Doi Inthanon Riverside Resort

We found it easy and convenient to set off for Doi Inthanon National Park in the morning. The breakfast set was okay, and the view of mist slowly drifting over the Ping River was beautiful. The resort is older, though it’s in good condition, and the rooms are bigger than at other resorts in Chomthong. It covers a large area by the river. The road to the entrance is narrow and quite dark in the evening, so try to arrive before sunset.

There weren’t many guests when we stayed, perhaps because the resort is spread over such a large area. It’s old, but walking around the grounds or using the space to run would be nice. As a one-night stop it was fine, though I’m not sure I’d come back if I had the chance.

We picked this place because it’s near Doi Inthanon National Park, and enjoyed our stay. The large cabins have huge rooms, some set up for families and others furnished differently. Our room had a big fridge-freezer, clean comfortable bedding, and good air conditioning. There were only a few food and drink options, but that makes sense in this rural part of Thailand. We got delicious, freshly cooked vegetarian meals without any trouble. Breakfast was American style, with fried eggs or an omelette. The staff did their best to make us happy, and it was good value for the money.

We came as a family of four, including elderly relatives, and liked how quiet and private the place felt. It’s about an hour from Doi Inthanon. There’s no 7-11, but a local convenience store is nearby. Not many restaurants are around, though the food at the property was delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. They also offer a Mookata (Thai BBQ) set. The place is cozy and well maintained.
