Right beside a calm river, this resort makes it easy to tune out the rush of everyday life. It’s about an hour from central Bangkok, and the breeze and pleasant weather add to the peaceful feel. The staff were warm and attentive, and we felt at home. The Thai food was delicious and more authentic than I expected. A refreshing place for a quiet getaway.

We stayed in the Tamma building, and the bedroom has a charming traditional style. I especially liked the light in the shower room and the way it opens to the sky. It’s one of the few really delightful places around here. For more privacy, it might help to keep the terrace away from the guest entrance, so people can walk behind the house instead of across the front porch. A bit more greenery would make the place feel like paradise.

The garden-like grounds and riverside setting make this old family house, now a small hotel, feel cozy and homey. You can catch the sunset by the river, and the family also gives a tour of their other house, which shares their history. I’m staying in Tamah, a room that feels especially suited to a romantic trip. Khun Joe is around to help, and his English is excellent. It feels like a home away from home. Just bring mosquito repellent.

I stayed in the Dhamma room and loved it, especially the river view and private jacuzzi. It’s a lovely, breezy resort by the river, just a few hours from Bangkok, and has a peaceful, home-like feel. The service is friendly and the food is great. A very cozy place for a relaxing vacation.
