River View Resort At Chaewlan

We only ate here, and the food was amazing: really nice homemade dishes without any extras. We understood each other perfectly using Google Translate. I absolutely recommend eating here. Thank you🙏

From a cabin by the riverside, we watched water being released and the river flowing in the early morning and again late in the afternoon. The food was good, though breakfast was a 6/10. I'd recommend staying.

Set right by the river in a forested spot, this is a cool place to stay. The cabins feel private, are nicely different, and have A/C. It's near the National Park and lake, with a great restaurant and drinks on site. Staff were nice and I really enjoyed it, though it is somewhat pricey for a tourist area :)

The bridge near the swing feels dangerous: my foot went through the old surface as I crossed, leaving a hole and injuring and frightening me. I told reception, but they didn't seem concerned or take steps to stop it happening again. The food was the worst we had in Thailand: very little choice, watery soups, dry rice, and wrong orders. Even when the restaurant wasn't busy, service took a long time. Once we were turned away for dinner because it was closed, with no warning. Since there were no other food options nearby, we were left hungry and had to leave early for the airport without breakfast. The staff interactions wore down my patience, and I wouldn't return to the restaurant or stay here again. The cabins themselves are clean, with a nice river view, and reasonable for the price. For 20€ a night, don't expect luxury or city comforts. Bugs and mosquitoes come with the wooded setting, but I found it tame and didn't need repellent. It's remote, so bring snacks. It's convenient for a 1-2 night stay if you're doing a lake day trip. The service really let the place down. Staff spoke almost no English and didn't seem interested in helping. Every attempt to ask basic questions about the room, food, or check-in became difficult, even with Google Translate, and got little care.
