Into The Forest Resort

Bangkok can feel far away here, with a lovely natural atmosphere and a really nice pool. We had a staycation and enjoyed it. The staff were attentive, the rooms super nice, and it was still easy to order food delivery. I’d definitely stay again.

We cut our stay short and left after one night. The concrete rooms may look pretty in photos, but in person they felt like poorly built prefab blocks with little thought for comfort or design. They get hot in the afternoon sun, and the glassed-in bathrooms turn into greenhouses while trying to keep mosquitoes out. Our air conditioning didn’t work, so sleeping felt like being in a sauna. The caretaker insisted we shouldn’t have touched the aircon remote. We arrived at night to a closed gate and the security guard/caretaker checked us in and showed us to the room. There was no dinner because the restaurant had closed. We were told to “Go to Mega” and “better be fast.” I don’t think he was the right staff member or trained in hospitality, but management also seems to have done a poor job making the new resort feel inhabitable, staffed, and properly maintained.

Breakfast was good, and the location is great, with no traffic noise. I’d recommend this place to my friends, 100%. Some small maintenance jobs need attention, though. The rooms look like they need another coat of white paint, or maybe they’re in the middle of being painted. The pool wall’s exterior tiles could do with being fixed back in place.

I stayed in Room 9 for one night after three weeks at Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, before heading home to Abu Dhabi. This felt like a quiet haven in Bangkok, with the rooms surrounded by water and a peaceful atmosphere. It would work for a few nights or just one night before a flight from nearby Suvarnabhumi Airport. The staff were friendly, and the lady chef made excellent chicken fried rice. There’s plenty of onsite parking and a security gate that gave peace of mind overnight. The restaurant menu is limited, but you can get a decent meal. A few things in Room 9: the bed was REALLY HARD and I had trouble sleeping, though it was only one night. The shower floor doesn’t slope properly toward the drain, so water can collect. I also couldn’t work out how to switch off the bathroom floor level light, so it stayed on all night. My stay was OK, and I’d stay again on a future trip back from Hua Hin. Safe travels.
