Paragon Inn

We had bought food and drinks, but when we went to the bar or restaurant area close to 1am, nobody was there and we were told we couldn't sit. Fine, rules are rules. When I ordered food and asked for a bowl, they first said we couldn't eat there and didn't give me one. Later they gave me the bowl but told us to sit somewhere else. For hotel guests, that felt overly strict. The first room smelled like bird poop. We were told a tuk tuk could take us to the main street for 20 baht and that it ran until 11pm. When we needed it, they said the driver had gone home without explaining what was happening. We decided to walk, but they still charged us for the ride, even though we'd only made it about halfway. No wonder there aren't many guests here.

The rooms don't look like the photos online. We changed rooms because the first one had smelly water, a dirty air conditioner, and a sliding front door that was hard to open and close. There was also a one-inch gap under the front door to outside, so bugs could get in. The shower vent switch is outside the room, meaning you have to open the front door to turn it on. I'd look for somewhere else near the ankle airport, but that's just my opinion.

The pool is right in front of the lobby, the staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel food was tasty, definitely worth trying. It's an older hotel in a quiet area; at night you can hear insects, which gives it a peaceful, natural feel that suited a family stay. The drainage smelled, and the bed squeaked, which made things a bit uncomfortable. Apart from that, everything was great. Thank you!

The staff were amazing and supportive. I left my phone on the counter as I was heading to the airport, and they called my driver and brought it to me in the rickshaw. I'll stay here again on my return journey.
