WJ Residence at Suvarnabhumi

Our ground-floor room was quiet even though it was right by the main entrance. It was clean and comfortable, and check-in around 17:30 was easy. There are washers and dryers out front for 40 Bhat each, along with a water refill point, 1 bhat for about 500mL. A Lotus and a 7/11 are at the end of the street, and there's a nice restaurant about a 5-10 minute walk away. Good spot close to the airport.

We booked mainly because it's only about 12 minutes from the airport. At the end of the street there's a busy night market with a few bars, and S64 Sky bar was about a 15-minute walk for good food and cocktails. The place is basic, which seems fair for 11 quid. The room was clean but had lots of shower flies. The people and staff were very friendly, and we had no problems.

The room was quiet and clean, though there were shabby touches, and I didn't feel 500 baht was worth it. I reserved through booking.com for U$13 and thought I'd secured and paid that price, but on arrival a man asked for 500 baht ($16). The difference wasn't huge, but the principle bothered me and left a scammy aftertaste. The receptionist was rude and seemed to be showing signs of substance use. There are plenty of other places nearby for the same price or less.

I only needed a room for a few hours before my flight, and being so close to the airport was handy. The stay was quiet and relaxed. The room was reasonably clean, though it could have been much better. I wanted to unwind in the pool, but it was very small and right at the entrance, so I decided not to use it.
