54 Place Saphan Mai, Don Mueang

The room was 1200 THB for the only option they had, a large family room. I arrived at 8 pm and needed to leave for the airport at 5:30 am. After a quick shower with room-temperature water, I went out for dinner and to 7/11. Back in the room, I lay down and felt something crawling on my skin. At first there were one or two, then more kept appearing. Bed bugs, mites, whatever they were, I left at midnight and slept at the airport. No refund, no apology, nothing. They didn't even offer a free taxi.

The nearby BTS station, Saphan Mai, the fresh market, and Ying Charoen Mall are convenient. The rest of the stay left a lot to be desired. The rooms seem to have been renovated, but the result wasn't good. The mattress was poor and uncomfortable, outside noise disturbed us, and the bathroom was small and badly designed. Breakfast mostly featured local food such as fatty meats and duck eggs. There were no vegetarian choices, which was especially difficult for my wife. These dishes may suit some guests, but didn't seem thoughtfully planned for international visitors. I was once given the wrong key on returning to the hotel, so I ended up holding another guest's room key. On two separate occasions, our room hadn't been cleaned. The key card device that turns on the electricity malfunctioned several times, and once stopped working in the middle of the night, disrupting our sleep. There was also a serious safety issue: the emergency exit stairs were blocked by a mattress, a bed base, and other items, which could be a major hazard in an emergency, as shown in the attached video. This property doesn't seem well suited to the expectations of international travelers.

The decor and appearance are very nice, and there are lots of shops nearby, which is the best part. But up close, it's dirty, with plenty of hair on the bed. The front desk staff weren't friendly, and I'd call them rude.

The rates are lower than other places, and there's Nescafe in the morning. Still, it's 19 BTS stations from Sukhumvit, the room and bathroom were tiny, and the room wasn't very clean. The sheet also had a large blood stain.
