ZEN Rooms Sukhumvit Soi 22

The daytime male front desk staff went out of their way to help when I lost my phone in a Grab car. He contacted the driver and kept trying to reach him. I eventually got the phone back with extra help, and then saw eight missed calls from the hotel in my call log. That really touched me. The service felt warm, sincere, and helpful. Highly recommended!

I arrived around 2:30 AM after a very delayed late-night flight, with a last-minute booking, and someone was at the desk ready to check me in. A taxi can pull into the property for drop-off and pick-up, which is handy on a busy corner, and there's parking too. I expected a bare-bones room, but it turned out to be a full apartment. It had a kitchen with utensils and dishes, a microwave, full-sized fridge and freezer, laundry machine, and drying rack. There's a breakfast nook that works for meals or a workstation, plus a living room with a large TV by windows overlooking the city. Instant coffee was in the kitchen, and the bathroom had the basic toiletries. The apartment was clean and homey, with plenty of storage for hanging or folding clothes. I liked the firm but not hard bed and pillows that weren't too flat. There was a main bathroom and an ensuite in the bedroom, plus a vanity area for getting ready. Every room had plenty of outlets for devices and work computers. This really felt like a lovely hidden gem that business or family travelers will like. It's also very close to El Mercado restaurant/European deli, a favorite spot of mine for charcuterie or oysters and wine.

It works well as a cozy place to stay, with everything functioning efficiently in the small space. The rooms are much smaller than the photos make them look, so there's less room for suitcases and belongings than you might expect. Staff will assist, but seem pretty indifferent, neither especially careless nor particularly nice, and don't go out of their way to provide service. It's just a place to stay. Getting a cab is very, very difficult, so I had to walk a lot each day to find one or get to the station.

I spent a great week at Like Sukhumvit 22. It's in a very safe area with 24/7 access, and the front desk is always available. The rooms are spacious, with a simple kitchen setup and a large fridge that works well, especially in the hot weather. Everyone on staff I met was pleasant and respectful. The hotel's private pool stays open until late in the evening. I'll definitely return to Like Sukhumvit 22.
