AIRY Hotel

Agoda really let me down on this booking. Its listing said a “one-way airport transfer” was included, but that wasn't true. The hotel charges to call a driver, and the driver charges too. There's no free airport transfer with the booking I paid for. Neither Agoda nor the hotel would help with the incorrect listing. Check-in itself was fine, though they require a 200 baht key deposit. The room was okay, not nice, but I've stayed in worse. It wasn't quiet: the train close by ran all night, and a motorcycle shop nearby was loud in the evening. There's not much else around, and restaurants and entertainment are a long way off. This is an à la carte hotel. Internet in the room, breakfast, room snacks, and the airport shuttle all cost extra. They seemed to assume I was fine with the charges and started billing without telling me. Maybe others don't mind a few baht here and there, but I do. Ask what each charge is for.

I ended up changing rooms three times. In the second room, the balcony door had no lock, so someone could easily get in from the street. I complained and asked to move again. I said I hadn't eaten all day and asked them not to take too long, since it had been a long, long day. He never came back. I fell asleep without realizing it, and by the time I woke up, the evening was gone and all the food places were closed. The woman downstairs looked annoyed and was rude to me, just saying no when I asked for another room. It took a lot of persuading to get room 13. It was tiny. After such an unlucky day, that was the cherry on top, and a rotten one.

My flight plans went wrong, and I needed a room at the last minute. The hotel worked out perfectly 👍 Cash is preferred, but they accepted my credit card with a 3% surcharge. Rooms are fairly large and quiet at night, when the train isn't running. Breakfast is average, though pretty good value.

The employees were polite in the end and apologized, but we're only considering coming back if they change things. Otherwise we'd rather stay in Bangkok City Center or Phuket Chiang Mai, etc. We couldn't trust what we were told: they said there was an airport shuttle, but there wasn't, so we ended up calling a shared Bolt ride. We had to change rooms because the shower had no hot water and there was mold on the rooftop. The window door could also crack open even when locked. They charged extra for Wi-Fi and breakfast, which we thought should be complimentary everywhere. We hope they improve their policy for returning guests.
