This felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel, and the actual stay was decent, but the service was terrible. The place wasn’t easy to find, there was no reception, only a cleaning lady who didn’t speak English, and we weren’t given the access details most Airbnb places provide. We had to contact them on several platforms to get the main entrance code, and waited four hours for a reply. We also had to chase them for the Wi-Fi password, and the owner never apologized. I stayed in the Gil room, which looked much nicer in the online photos. At times, the bathroom sink also gave off a dirty kitchen water smell, as if there was a plumbing issue.

I’ve never left a bad review for a property before, but I’m doing so now. I got sick and couldn’t travel to Bangkok, so before the trip I asked the owner to cancel my booking. I knew cancellations weren’t refundable, but tried to discuss getting a refund. I sent the request twice and got no response, only a message with my booking information. I may never get the money back. I understand the policy, but they could at least have replied courteously and handled the matter professionally. I wouldn’t have been upset if they’d simply responded and explained.

The room for four was really nice, with an ensuite bathroom, separate toilet and shower, living and dining space, a small kitchen, and comfortable beds. Even the bunks were arranged so you could climb in or out without disturbing the person below. But check-in was a mess. We arrived two hours after check-in began, and the room still wasn’t ready. The maid was still clearing the previous guests’ things and luggage just outside, and mopping while we were there. She was rushing and missed quite a few things I pointed out. Finding the right apartment was confusing too, since the door wasn’t obvious and the instructions were poor. We kept trying the wrong door. It took ages to reach the host, and the number in the booking said he didn’t handle the Bangkok property. We had to find another way to contact them through Instagram, which was so inconvenient. The stay could have been better with a spotless room, an easier check-in, and clearer communication.

The AC poured water inside the unit, so we had to switch it off and the room became very hot. There was black mold-like stuff in the shower, cracked walls, and silver duct tape on the wood floors. The listing photos were altered or out of date. I contacted them using the details provided, but calls went unanswered and messages through Booking.com got no reply. The attendant somehow reached the agent/owner, who agreed to refund four of the six days the place was unusable. Booking.com reviews suggest the AC problem had been ongoing. I took photos of the condition. Despite agreeing to refund four days, they disappeared and no refund was started. I wish I’d checked reviews before booking, and they shouldn’t be allowed to list the place for rent. Horrible service.

The weak 5G and Wi-Fi signal inside was a real problem, and getting help could take a while since there’s no reception or staff on standby. When something came up, we had to call the administration or message them on Facebook. The room itself exceeded our expectations when we first saw it. It had a European-style feel, and we had the whole floor, with plenty of space. There were four rooms: kitchen, living room, bedroom, and a large bathroom with separate toilet and shower. The décor was very luxurious, and I liked the electronic locks on both the main entrance and our room, which each needed a code.
