Bangkok Sleep Nest

There's a cafe on the ground floor where you can order food and drinks until 7 pm. The staff speak Burmese and English, and you can use a washing machine for 30 baht per load, with a drying area available. The rooms and toilets were clean, the beds are high enough that I don't hit my head when sitting up, and they give you a free water bottle and towel. The hostel where I stayed before charged 30 baht extra for a towel. I didn't feel my bed had much privacy, since people walking past could see me through the gap between the wall and bed. There's no roomy common area or kitchen, so I wouldn't choose this hostel if I needed to work.

I experienced what I consider a constitutional and human rights atrocity. I was knowingly coerced or deceived into giving up several basic human and constitutional rights, including fundamental privacy rights, because I could not reliably get shelter, sleep, or hygiene otherwise. Before arriving here, I had been tortured, and access to shelter and sleep was made conditional on trying to get me to surrender some of my most fundamental rights upon arrival.

It's a clean, family-friendly place that worked well for us on a budget. The food and coffee were good and affordable, the Wi-Fi was good for working, and the AC worked great. We stayed twice, once after arriving in Bangkok and again before leaving. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there's a grocery store nearby with lots of food stalls. The train station is a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to get to the airport or downtown.

There’s a Lotus and KFC nearby, so finding food is easy. The dorm was clean and felt like good value, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I had a great stay. I’d pick a top bunk for a bit more privacy and safety if someone creepy happens to be around.
