They told us the room was overbooked only about two weeks before arrival, even though we’d booked more than a month earlier. If a room is overbooked, they should contact the guest as soon as possible. Instead, after more than a month had passed, they said we had to cancel or stay at another hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the location was good, near the shopping mall. The room is small, and you have to find the entrance at the end of an alley. There are lots of cats around, and the place smelled strongly of them.

The people here were so kind and helpful, especially the lovely host who helped us every day. It’s a quiet, friendly guesthouse with good free WiFi, and there are two safes in the room. I’d have liked a bedroom mirror, a little fridge, and somewhere to hang clothes. I brought hangers and used the window rod instead. It’s very close to the river: go right, then right again at the end, and straight on to catch the free boat across to IconSiam. There were plenty of cats around, which I loved. I do recommend staying here.

The people are the best part. The manager and nearby locals were warm and humble, and the Friday and Saturday karaoke from the street food vendor to the right of the office was fun to watch, not too loud. There are also two laundry ladies on the street, a Buddhist shrine across from the hotel, and a few markets and the waterway nearby. It’s a quiet neighborhood that worked well as a base for exploring BKK, and the place suits groups of two or three. The building is simple and minimal, but people were kind and forgiving. I’d happily use BC guest house on future BKK trips and recommend BC Guesthouse for a quiet stay. I got in after midnight, the night before my booking, after walking from the mts subway. On the quiet side street and in the first room, with a sliding glass balcony door opening onto a shared second-floor walkway, I felt a little uneasy. In daylight it felt completely different. The room was simple, with a good shower and toilet, and the balcony door locked from inside with no outside keyhole. The street felt humble and friendly, with smiling locals and food vendors. The beds were clean. I saw no signs of bugs apart from a few mosquitoes and cobwebs in the rafters, and there weren’t many mosquitoes. The neighborhood and simple rooms suited a calm Thai vacation. The photos show the intersection at the end of the hotel street and the balcony overlooking the covered street and a car repair yard. Thank you BC Guesthouse for your kindness and hospitality.

I didn’t stay there myself, but K Ying was extremely helpful when I was picking up luggage for friends who got stuck across the border during lockdown. My friends said the staff were very nice too. Thank you.
