We call it “the OK home,” which pretty much sums up the place. It’s laid-back, and I haven’t had to deal with the stricter condo rules I’ve seen enforced elsewhere. There are plenty of security guards, especially at night, though they’re often asleep. The location is reasonably close to things to do, but getting a taxi on this road can be a hassle. The building is visibly ageing and badly needs repainting in many places. Hallway lights are often out, and the elevators sometimes stop working. There’s supposedly an activity area beside the pool with a sauna and pool table, but it’s always locked, with no sign explaining how to get in. I only found it by accident when someone left the door open. Beside the sauna are indoor dipping pools with pictures of naked women on the wall. I suspect residents aren’t meant to use them and that management may be running some kind of side business there. Electricity costs too much because the bill doesn’t come directly from the city. Management also seems to give people the wrong bills regularly, either with the wrong amount or by putting them in the wrong mailboxes.
