BU Place Hotel

The staff were nice, and I liked the pool, sauna, and neighborhood. My room was very dark, though, and the rooms are basic and quite dated. I found a toxic beetle on the sheets, but staff changed them promptly. The noise is the main reason I wouldn’t return. I’m writing this at 2 am after being woken every night. The doors barely block any sound, so you hear the elevator ding and people walking along the corridor outside. I’ve never heard anything so loud. Not bad value, but I wouldn’t stay again.

I was here for about a month and 15 days. The location is excellent, right in the middle of a busy area, with a pharmacy, 7-Eleven, and cafe on the first floor. The price was very reasonable, and I was surprised by how much room there was for the cost. The room was in good condition too. Check-in and check-out were easy, and there’s a laundry shop five seconds away. They also have parcel storage at reception, a gym, pool, parking, and more. I mostly just used the room to sleep. Service was the biggest downside. Most staff didn’t seem friendly, and one man at the front desk late at night was extremely unfriendly. It left a bad impression. The cleaning staff were cheerful and kind, thankfully, and they lifted my mood. The front desk sets the tone for a hotel, but here it felt almost AI-operated. I can understand that the staff seem overloaded and exhausted. Another hassle is that they only give you one key card, which you need for the building entrance, hallway entrance, and room door. That’s inconvenient when two or more people are staying together and going out separately, though security is probably good. If you just want a good location and somewhere to sleep, and don’t care about service, this is a very good hotel. The atmosphere felt like an AI-operated hotel 😡. The price gets a 👍🏻, as does the noodle shop just outside on the left and the view from the left-side hallway. Noise 😬, weed smell in the hallway 😬, and Wi-Fi on the 10th floor 😬. The nearby restaurants weren’t very good from a local’s perspective, though the outdoor restaurant by the parking lot on the left was okay 🙂. On a budget, I’d stay again. But if you can spend around 2k bart per night, I’d recommend somewhere with much better staff attitude, views, and service.

The pool was good, and there’s a small but okay gym. My room was quite big with a city view, a couch, a bathtub, and a comfortable bed. A 7/11 next door was handy. There isn’t a lot around, but getting a cab is easy enough. Pretty good place overall.

It’s a fairly tall building in a convenient spot that’s not too central or busy. The room was spacious and had everything I needed, and there’s an Amazon and 7Eleven downstairs. Rama 9 is within walking distance, and they offer a free shuttle to Tesco at Fortune Mall. I think they may also have long-term stays.
