Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Bangkok

We only stayed a short while, but I loved it and can't wait to come back 💗. The breakfast had the ABSOLUTE BEST spread I've come across, with loads of European and Asian choices. I couldn't decide where to start. The decor was really beautiful and left me speechless. The gym had a lovely view over the pool and surrounding garden. It's also very close to public transport, shopping malls, and night markets. If you're thinking of staying here, definitely do, you'll remember it for a long time.

The rooms were comfortable, roomy, and clean, though there was one small bathroom detail in ours that could use a refresh. We also liked the night market about a 15-minute walk away. It had lots of food at good prices and felt more local, and less touristy, than many Bangkok markets. Central Ladprao Mall is right beside the hotel, with a direct connection open during mall hours. That was especially handy in the heat and rain. Staff were warm and helpful, breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and the restaurant and bar on the 24th floor had a lovely atmosphere and views. The prices there felt fair for the quality. We had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The beds were great, and rooms facing Chatuchak have a lovely view. I enjoyed watching the cars and trains pass as the city went quiet. The hotel is dated, but cozy and practical, with larger rooms. Cleanliness was usually spotless, and the laundry service was good. The towels and water are bleached, so I’d avoid long hot showers; the fragrant soap and shampoo felt a bit harsh on my skin. It’s a convenient area away from some of the pollution and sleaze, near Chatuchak park, two malls, a theatre, and several kinds of transport, though not boats. Don Mueang airport and Chaenwattana Immigration are about 30 minutes away by highway. Parking fills early, so early arrivals have a better chance. Reservations can take some effort, so book ahead. Conference facilities are good, food choices plentiful, and prices very good. My experience with staff and service was mixed, sometimes very good and sometimes very bad. Some people worked hard, while others seemed to take their roles lightly. Duty managers and reception were kind when problems came up; concierge and in-room dining were consistent. In general, staff could be more courteous and take time to understand their roles. The lounge breakfast is worth trying early, around 6-7 am. It’s sufficient, and the view over Bangkok in the blue morning light is beautiful. They used to have a great wine selection, but the house wine on my recent stay seemed spoiled. The Burger, Phad Kapraow, and Pad Thai I had were easily the best I’ve tried, though it depends on who’s cooking. I haven’t used the pool or gym. I’d recommend staying here over the usual areas, with those caveats in mind. Thanks for the many wonderful stays :)

The pool was a favorite, a calm, green spot amid the city chaos. The hotel itself was clean, bright, and elegantly designed in the lobby and shared spaces. Our room was a good size, had what we needed, and the air-conditioning worked well. We faced a school, so the view was neither great nor terrible. The staff were attentive and professional. Dan, Noor, and Iris at the lobby bar made each visit especially welcoming. I wasn’t keen on the location, since walking in and out isn’t easy. We used taxis and Grab, and went to Central mall, though we couldn’t figure out the connection to the hotel. This was my first time at this Centara and in this part of BKK, and I’ve always enjoyed Centara. I’d stay again.
