Chiva Bangkok Hotel

We used the fridge/freezer and microwave in the room to eat food from a local 7-11, since there aren't restaurant or breakfast facilities like in a standard hotel. The room is basic but very clean, and staff came to service it each morning. At 1,500 baht a night, with free buggy rides to and from the hospital included, it was great value. Chiva is rated three stars, though the stay felt more like renting a condo. I'd highly recommend Chiva for a cheap stay in Bangkok.

The hotel itself was alright, but the Buggy driver made the experience unpleasant. Sometimes his manner was bad and he seemed short-tempered. We had to wait for him to finish smoking, so the service wasn't convenient.

Very convenient for Bangkok hospital, with a free shuttle bus available almost all the time.

The room was spotless and the area was quiet. I only spent one night here, so I didn't get to experience much beyond that. The hotel is on a small road beside Bangkok Hospital, and it's also fairly close to Bangkok Plaza. The free electric shuttle runs to the hospital at different times each day, and you can book it through the hotel. A minor annoyance was the electricity switch. There's just one, by the entrance, so when I went to bed I had to get up and walk over there to turn everything off. Aside from that, I had no complaints. Prices are reasonable, and it's especially handy for a medical check-up or for visiting a family member at Bangkok Hospital. A good option for that.
