Column Bangkok Hotel

Our 80-square-metre executive room was quiet and wonderfully spacious, with a view we loved. The hotel is a little dated, and breakfast could be better. The location is great, close to the BTS, and we’ll likely come back.

The staff were really friendly, and the location beside the BTS is good, with nice views too. Rooms are dated but roomy, which makes this a good option for a family. There aren’t meals available at the hotel, so for breakfast you’ll need to head to the nearby Foodland. I’d recommend it if you’re after a spacious room.

The pool looks out over both the city and the park, and the breakfast option downstairs at the restaurant in the next building is all-you-can-eat, with loads of choices. The rooms are clean, modern, roomy and fully equipped, and service is available around the clock. The staff were amazing. You’re close to the action, but far enough away for things to stay quiet, with a beautiful park right in front. For the price, the location is hard to beat. There are some good booking deals on agoda too. I’d definitely recommend the hotel, and I’ve already booked extra nights.

I keep coming back because the stay has been reliably comfortable and good value every time. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, and having housekeeping, city views, an infinity pool and a gym adds a lot to the condo-style rooms. They feel more like an Airbnb, with plenty of space and useful extras like a washing machine and kitchenette. For the nightly price, that’s a lot. A newer hotel at the same rate might feel posher or have better breakfast, but the rooms will usually be smaller, or there’ll be some other trade-off. The location makes exploring easy. Terminal 21, the BTS and MRT are about an 8-12 minute walk, and restaurants, bars, massage places and tailors are all around in either direction. It’s close to things but quiet enough. The gym and infinity pool are nice extras, too. I do miss the old buffet breakfast at the top of the hotel, with that amazing view. The current arrangement at the restaurant next door is fine, just not as good as that. The design isn’t especially modern or luxurious, and I’d rate the rooms 4/5 on their own. They could use an update, and you can see patchwork and small fixes, especially in the bathrooms. Still, I’ve been staying here since before COVID and have always had a great experience. It’s dependable, comfortable and great value.
