The room was spacious, which was the one good thing. The corridor carpets were dirty and stained, and I could smell cigarette smoke throughout a hotel that says it’s non-smoking. Otherwise, I didn’t find much to like. There’s no reception in this hotel; check-in is at another hotel in the suites. Nothing told me I had to go there, and I only figured it out from another traveller who was checking out. In the first room, shower pressure was very low and there was no hot water. I complained at the check-in hotel and went back. An hour later, a technician came, couldn’t fix it, and called to move me. I had to wait again for another room, where the shower pressure was still low. I removed the shower head to get enough pressure to shower and didn’t bother complaining again.

The location is perfect, with Asok BTS, Healthland, 7-11, Ping’s, and even an ATM downstairs. The rooms are huge, clean, and really practical for the price, and everything worked perfectly. Housekeeping was lovely. Smart, the porter at Kensington Hotel, where you check in, is a legend.

Housekeeping needs to do a better job: there were visible oil stains on the nightstand surfaces, and the vanity table and shelves were dusty. The building looks dated, and the carpet has seen better days, although the room itself is spacious. Getting here is convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from Terminal 21 and BTS/MRT. Check-in is a strange setup because there’s no reception counter; when I arrived, building security sent me to the adjacent building to register. With better housekeeping, this could be good value for money.

I should have asked for a non-smoking room. I got a large suite at a fantastic price, but it smelled strongly of stale smoke. The room was in okay condition with clean sheets and was tidy, though the property is aging and feels budget quality. It had a fridge, cook top, and washer/dryer. The location is near downtown activities and Nana station. It’s confusing to find on gmaps, so you may need to ask at a couple of nearby hotels, who should be able to help.
