Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke

Our family enjoyed three nights at Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke in a triple room. It was spacious, elegant, and very clean, with a comfortable main bed and good amenities. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety and tasted great, especially the Japanese and Thai corner, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The extra bed was the one issue: its mattress seemed old and the layer was thin, so it wasn’t very comfortable. We asked for it to be changed, but the replacement felt much the same. Since we were only there three nights, we managed. We still really enjoyed our stay and would give five stars for the service, location, and experience. Thanks for the hospitality. Breakfast was a real highlight at Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke. There was a huge choice of hot dishes, fresh fruit, and pastries, and the quality was very good. The pool on the 7th floor looked nice, but the water was very cold, so I didn’t want to stay in it long. The staff were friendly and polite, and check-in and checkout were smooth. When the toilet broke on our first day and kept running, maintenance came quickly and fixed it that same day. The room was clean, well maintained, and had a comfortable bed, so we slept well. Still, the furniture and decor feel dated, with an older style from when the hotel operated as a Pullman under the Accor group. It’s a well-located city hotel with kind staff and a great breakfast, but anyone expecting a brand-new, modern Hilton might find the rooms and furniture a little disappointing.

I had a great stay and will come back on my next trip to Bangkok. The hotel is close to the MRT and BTS lines and Terminal 21 mall, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet at night. Breakfast each morning had a good range of food from around the world, and there’s a large gym with lots of equipment and a shaded pool area. The staff really stood out. Anya at reception was great, and Minnie, Milk, and the other breakfast staff always greeted me with a smile and suggestions when I wanted to try something different. Pha turned over my room while I was at breakfast and used an iPad translator to check that I had everything I needed.

We left Hilton Grand Asoke disappointed, even though the staff were attentive and professional, and many were kind and helpful. The setting felt uncomfortable for our family because the hotel is right by Sukhumvit’s nightlife and adult entertainment areas. Condoms in the room added to the feeling that it wasn’t very family-friendly. The pool is nicely designed but small, and some loungers were broken and in poor shape. We also found it odd that the gym is on the same floor as a busy nightclub. There was no clear signage, so we had to ask club staff to show us the way, and much of the gym equipment seemed old. Breakfast offered a wide selection, but the staff interaction felt rushed and impersonal, especially for a Hilton Diamond member. The breakfast area’s confusing, irregular layout also made it feel uncomfortable and not relaxing. We’d rate the stay 3 out of 5. It might rate higher in normal circumstances, but there were too many negatives for us this time.
