This is so cheap, but the basics still need to work. Everything in the toilet was broken, and the beds were awful, hard to sleep or even sit on properly. I found bed bugs too, and guests came in very late, so there was noise in the room. The owner should renovate the place. You could manage one emergency night here, but I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay. They don’t provide drinking water either, you have to buy it from them.

I’m an African American woman teaching ESL, and Hostel24 BACKPACKERS was my first hostel and international trip. I stayed there alone for two straight months during my 60-day visa exemption. It’s the sister hostel owned by the same woman, two sois away from Hostel24 on Sukhumvit soi 95/1. Here’s my honest take, with pics. At $2.21 USD a day for two months through Agoda, the value and location are hard to beat. There were no hidden fees or bait and switches, I got what I paid for. The drawbacks of a mixed dorm and shared space with loose rules are the usual ones: you need to be careful with your things, and willing to clean up after yourself and other guests. I met plenty of friendly, social people there. I’d recommend Hostel24. The WiFi is unlimited and fast, including on the roof, though strongest in the lobby and rooms. The mattresses and bedding were clean; mine was brand new and still wrapped in plastic. Beds have curtains, a wall light, and an outlet. There’s a private room too. Bathrooms with toilets, bum guns, showers, and sinks are on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th floors. Bring your own toiletries and cleaning products. Hot water is only on the 3rd floor, and all sinks have cold water. The 1st-floor sink is outside in front of the hostel, with no mirror or blow dryer above it. That floor is also the only one where the shower and restroom are separate. You can sit out front, in the lobby, or on the rooftop to eat, drink, smoke, or work. Next door there’s a store with snacks, drinks, a drinking water machine, and washing machines. Clothes can be hung in the rooms or on the rooftop, where there are lines and hangers. There’s no microwave, but 7-Eleven heats up food, and there are street vendors and restaurants all around. The hostel also sells cold drinks. The hostel sits between two 7-Elevens on sois 93 & 95/1, with another across the street. Bang Chak BTS station is nearby: get to the corner of soi 95/1 and turn left. I wasn’t sure what to expect because the owner doesn’t always return my greetings, but she and the staff turned out to be pretty cool, lenient, and accommodating. You can ask for a room, bed, or bedding change, including a move to their sister hostel two sois away. There’s no limit to how long you can book, and I stayed two months. The owner will drive guests to the airport herself. She also takes guests on tours around Thailand in her van if at least three people agree on a time and place, for a fee. You’ll meet people from around the world and might make long-term friends.

My stay at Hostel 24 went terribly. The room was filthy and the bathroom felt like a biohazard. Staff were very rude and unhelpful, and kept my money without giving me the service I’d paid for. They handled checkout badly too. It felt like a total scam.

Don’t stay at this hotel. The room was very dirty, the shower barely had any water, and the owner was rough and rude in the way they behaved.

For the price, it’s a nice place. The metro station is close, and they cleaned every day. I stayed a week in a dorm and never had bedbugs. The showers and toilets were always clean, and the owner and staff were consistently nice and helpful. There are several shops, massage places, and a 7/11 nearby, and they also have private rooms.
