JC House Bangkok

I stayed for two weeks while waiting for two important mail orders sent here. The hostel is quiet and good for sleep, with roomy dorms, a large common area, and free Wi-Fi that worked properly. Air conditioning runs from 9 pm to 9 am and was decent. The place is clean and in good condition, though the bathrooms and showers could use more cleaning and maintenance. It's nothing that would bother a backpacker. There's no shared kitchen. The mattresses are the hardest I've ever slept on, but somehow I slept great. Khao San Road is about a 5-10 minute walk away. As a solo European traveler, I found the two weeks lonely. The staff are Chinese, and almost all the guests were too, since the hostel seems to be advertised that way on some Chinese travel networks. I don't speak Chinese, and the guests didn't really mingle with Westerners. I couldn't leave because my mail orders had been shipped there. Some shelves beside the washbasins for toiletries would be useful.
