Lamphuhouse Bangkok

Friendly reception staff, a private bathroom, and a good location made this decent value for money. It was cheap and cheerful, but the beds were extremely hard, and the walls were paper thin, so I could hear absolutely everything happening on the street outside.

If I'm back in bangkok, I'll definitely stay here again. I loved my time there. The location is great for Khao san, with the main road very close. The rooms and washrooms were clean, and the two women at reception were especially helpful. They even helped us get bus tickets to Koh Samui, and the bus stop is very near.

I've made this my regular place whenever I'm in Bangkok. It's got a traveller feel, which suits me as an old Dharma Bum. The people at the desk are always helpful, and there's a lovely courtyard where you can relax for as long as you need. The cafe is decent and well priced, right in the heart of Bangkok and just five minutes from Kao San Rd. Rooms are basic, and nights can be noisy, but the price reflects that. I totally recommend Lamphu Guest House.

The staff made check-in quick and easy, and for the price I thought it was solid value. The room was basic but clean, with a comfortable bed and AC. They also supplied a hairdryer, bottled water, and toilet paper. The shower had good pressure and temperature, though it left the whole bathroom wet. It’s a calm, comfortable place in the middle of old Bangkok, handy for exploring on foot while still staying quiet despite the activity nearby.
