The river view at Mowa Bangkok was stunning and romantic at night. I was lucky enough to catch a drone show, which made the atmosphere feel even more special. I spent a couple of hours there for dinner last night, tried a few dishes, and really enjoyed the evening. The food was nicely prepared and presented, and the attentive staff gave great service. A lovely choice for a relaxed dinner or date night, or just for good food with a beautiful river view. Highly recommended.

I stayed here from 28 September to 1 October 2025, on the third floor, though I can't remember my room number. Here's my honest review. We found MOWA through a random YouTube video by TedAroi, who was exploring food around Wang Lang and stopped at Kraft Cafe. The video showed this hotel, and we booked it almost straight away. We fell for it from that quick look. The pier is about a five-minute walk away. This was my first time staying by a pier rather than near the MRT or BTS, even though I've been back and forth to Bangkok many times. I prefer it: getting around by boat was quicker and there was no traffic. We tried boats with and without AC, and liked both. We used the boat every day and really enjoyed it. The hotel is in the middle of a market, so cars can't pull up right in front. I saw negative reviews about the location, and if you don't want to walk a little, this probably isn't the place for you. You have to walk about 5-6 minutes to the main road. That didn't bother my husband or me at all, though the hotel could explain this more clearly so guests know what to expect. Being in the market also means there is so much local food. You'd need three days to try it all. The room was very clean, the AC worked really well in the sizzling Bangkok heat, and the toilet was surprisingly large and clean. The shower pressure was low, even though the sink water ran fast, so I'd suggest having a plumber check it. Everything else was perfect. The staff were all good, though we didn't interact with them much, so I can't say much more. No one disappointed us. Would I come back? YES, YES, YES.

Getting a Grab to pick you up on time can be tricky because the hotel is tucked inside the local market. You need to walk about 5-8 minutes to get back to the pickup point. It’s very dark at night, though it still felt safe with security around. Also, despite being close to the river, I didn’t get a room with a river view.

We had a problem with the room attendant at first, which made our last stay unpleasant. The manager dealt with it well and quickly moved us to another hotel so we could have a better experience. I just want to enjoy a peaceful New Year’s vacation with my husband, without problems or conflict.

I used to go to college around here two decades ago, and the area still has the same feel, with plenty of local food. Some of it is just okay, some is delicious, but it all feels local. Room 416 had the best view. The bed and pillow were too soft for me to sleep, but at least being awake let me catch a lovely sunrise over the temples and tall buildings. Such nice scenery.
