Pawana Mansion

Handy enough for a few budget nights in Bangkok. The rooms are basic but fairly clean, and being able to come and go 24 hours is a plus. Just be aware that early check-in costs extra.

I liked unwinding in the bathtub with hot water after walking around Bangkok. The corner rooms have two windows, one opening onto a balcony and another beside the bed. For us, waking up to sunlight and the view of skyscrapers was great. We were on a high floor in room 710, but if 701 is available, I’d ask for that since it’s closer to the router. We had almost no Wi-Fi in our room. There’s a fridge, TV, wardrobe with lots of hangers, dresser with a big mirror, and a sofa. They provided two bottles of water and about 2L in the water boiler. The receptionists were nice and helpful, and LINE is an easier way to reach them, with the number or username at reception. The old air conditioning can be noisy, which might bother light sleepers. The hotel is near the MRT Yellow Line, and it’s just one bus ride to Chatuchak market. It’s not in a touristy area, so it was quiet.

Good service and good rooms. I’ve never seen anything like this in Bangkok. This hotel is really nice for a safe night.

That receptionist deserves 10/10, she’s been there over five years and was a superstar. The place is old, sure, but it’s been looked after and doesn’t feel run down. For the low price I got a clean, roomy place with a balcony, and I kept extending my stay. The room felt like something you’d get at a pricier hotel, just in an older building.
