Riva Surya Bangkok

We stayed two nights partway through our trip, then returned for one more before our flight home. When I got food poisoning at another place on the river, I was too ill to fly as planned. Man, the hotel manager, was so understanding and concerned. Although our room was booked for two more nights, he arranged another room so we wouldn't have to switch hotels, helped change our flights, and assisted with the paperwork for cancelling the original ones. The staff all seemed to know I was unwell and repeatedly checked with my husband about how I was doing while I recovered in the room. Piaow at reception is one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and everyone treated us with so much respect and kindness. I'm grateful to the whole team. The rooms are spacious and clean, though the showers could use some bleach. The restaurant has indoor dining and a lovely outdoor deck by the pool overlooking the river. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, just less variety than at other hotels we stayed in. Dinner was also very good, both in how it looked and tasted.

Room 210 was a very comfortable, spotless river-view suite, and I'd strongly recommend it if you want the full riverside feel. The hotel is well placed for food, drinks, and relaxed nightlife around Ram Buttri Alley, and the Grand Palace and several Wats are an easy walk away. After a hot day out, the pool is a welcome break, with plenty of places to sit or lounge. Grab taxis to and from the airport or other parts of Bangkok were easy to get. Staff were attentive and friendly. It's not cheap, but good value, and I'll stay again next time I'm in Bangkok.

We spent four nights at Riva Surya and had a great stay. Breakfast by the river each morning was a highlight, and the facilities were very well maintained. The staff were welcoming and professional throughout. The neighborhood is lively, with a major boat station just a two-minute walk away, so exploring the city was easy. The pool area was calm and relaxing, although the water was a little cool. For our 5 AM departure, the checkout team thoughtfully prepared breakfast boxes. We recommend Riva Surya completely. It was great value and, in our experience, the service surpassed some pricier five-star hotels we've visited.

From the pool, breakfast was good, and the grill restaurant served tasty Thai and international food. Service was outstanding, always polite and friendly. The hotel is right along the river, very close to Arthit pier, so taking a riverboat is a good way to avoid Bangkok traffic. There are lots of things to see and do within walking distance. The river-facing rooms with balconies are the ones to book. A great choice!
