Ruen Pruksa Boutique Resort

The second-floor rooms seemed better than the ones downstairs. Breakfast comes plated, with only a few choices, so don’t expect much. It’s still a relaxing place if you’re after nature or forest vibes and aren’t too picky. There’s a lot of potential here, but the resort looks like it’s seen better days and needs care and maintenance. I like the idea of being surrounded by nature after a day in the city. Much of the resort is wood, and the weathering has left it looking old and damaged in places. The traditional room style is lovely, but the industrial touches don’t fit and spoil the atmosphere.

It’s a peaceful riverside place for unwinding, and a nice base for exploring Koh Kret, with its Mon culture, pottery, and food. The Ruen Pruksa Boutique Resort is away from Bangkok’s hustle, but also about 30-45 minutes from the city center, which could mean a long trip. Public transport is limited, so you may need a car or taxi. There are Deluxe rooms with double or twin beds and Superior rooms with a king bed. The resort has an on-site restaurant, room service, laundry, and indoor and outdoor pools. Beyond Koh Kret, there aren’t many tourist attractions within walking distance compared with central Bangkok.

I keep coming back here. For me, it’s the best hotel around Pakret - Bang Plub. It’s especially handy if you have your own transport, though reception can call taxis. There are plenty of restaurants and a 7/11 not far away. The gardens are beautiful and the resort is usually very peaceful. My room has always been clean and comfortable, and the staff are polite and helpful without hovering.

The staff weren’t very helpful or service minded, and the breakfast was rather poor. The pool water was murky. Still, the resort itself is beautiful, with plenty of trees beside a small river. It’s close to Bangkok but feels far away. My deluxe room was fairly clean and spacious.
