Silom One

Getting around is easy from Silom One Hotel, with Sala Daeng BTS just steps away and Silom MRT also close by. That’s really the main thing the hotel has going for it. The room was clean, but everything felt worn and dated. The paint is aging, there’s moisture damage in the bathroom, and there’s no headboard. The bed was extremely hard and could use a foam topper. The TV was so small it was hard to see from bed. Service was limited. At first we were told “No” when we asked for fresh or extra towels, then told they’d allow it once as a “concession” and charge for later requests. There weren’t extra pillows available either. There are some safety and access issues too. The elevator is too small for two people with luggage to ride together. There’s an unexpected step at the entrance that’s easy to trip on, and I did, plus low clearance in the stairwell where I hit my head going downstairs. The building doesn’t feel handicap accessible, and the front desk isn’t staffed around the clock. The transit location is great, but otherwise it wasn’t a very nice stay. That location is what saves the place.
