Skydome Resotel

This was my second visit in under a year, and I guess I’ll look for another place next time I’m in Bangkok. Prices have gone up, as they have at most hotels. They now charge 65thb or more just for ice, even if you have a suite, and the rooftop restaurant food costs more too. Breakfast was 195 thb per person. We were told it came with our junior suite, but ended up paying for it every day.

The road gets noisy at times, but the hotel has clean rooms and good food at a competitive price. Check-in and checkout were quick. There’s a nice rooftop bar and restaurant open until midnight, with a live band too.

I think all their bedding is made for single beds. The room was the smallest I’ve stayed in, and the bedding was too short. I’m 5'10" and, even pulled up to my shoulders, it left my feet uncovered below the ankles.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was good. It’s a decent hotel for the price, though you need a taxi to go anywhere nearby since there’s no public transport within walking distance. There isn’t much to do here either. I stayed because my friend lives in the area.
