Charlie House Pinklao

We loved the location. Central Pinklao is very close, with at least 100 restaurant and fast food options, plus authentic street food vendors along the way. Most of the time, we felt like the only western tourists at the mall. A Grab or taxi ride to anywhere we wanted in Bangkok was around 200 baht. We didn’t try breakfast. The staff were very friendly, like almost everyone in this city, and the rooms were clean enough. At night we only heard birds and toads. We loved staying here.

The location is peaceful and nice, but I don’t think the price, over 50 eur per night, is worth it. My room’s A/C was too weak to do its job. I left it set to 16 all night and still woke up sweating. Breakfast costs extra and is the same every day. The pool stays in the shade with no sunlight, so you can’t sunbathe there.

The beds were insanely hard, which was the biggest downside. The area around the hotel looks a little sketchy and poor, though it’s not the worst. Inside, it was nice, and the staff were kind and helpful. We stayed three nights when we first got to Bangkok, and for the price it was a good hotel. I’d recommend it if you’re after a relaxing vibe.

We booked four rooms for one day. The rooms were decent, clean, fairly spacious, and the staff were very helpful. There’s no lift, but it was manageable. The hotel is 200-300 metres from the main road, and the road in is narrow, so it can be difficult to reach with luggage. You can ask the hotel for help, though, and they’ll provide a cart to pick up your bags.
