The Boss Sathorn Hotel

The location is great, and the room was okay, though very old and mouldy. The service was awful, including the gloomy, sour-faced receptionists. I stayed three nights and asked housekeeping three times. The soap and shampoo dispensers were empty, there was no drinking water or coffee, the towels weren't changed, the bathmat was soaked, and the rubbish bin was overflowing. I also saw two cockroaches. Housekeeping never came once.

The hotel was okay, out on the edge of the Sathorn district. If you're new to Thailand or Bangkok and come from a smaller place, don't stress. Bangkok is safe, one of the safest in the world. The streets are full of food carts, and the food is safe to eat.

Aim is a good deal for the price, and I’d come back. The room had a big, comfortable double bed with a duvet, effective AC, and a bathroom that worked fine. There’s a 7/11 and Fresh Food Mart just steps away, a weed shop right outside, and plenty of traditional Thai food vendors within easy walking distance. No complaints at this price.

The street is lovely, with great bars and restaurants, and the location is good. But the hotel itself is old and dirty, and the receptionist was so unfriendly she wouldn’t even smile or make eye contact. I booked three nights, then spent the last night at the Ibis down the road. There are much nicer places nearby for the same price.
