The Krungkasem Srikrung Hotel

We stayed five days before Chinese New Year in February 2026. For 1100 TBaht/day, this has been by far the most economical hotel we’ve found in our several trips to Bangkok. The location is excellent, breakfast is a free buffet, the place is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the bed and linens were extremely comfortable. It’s an old hotel from the 60s and looks a little run down, but both elevators and the A/C worked well, so the appearance didn’t matter to us. Excellent value for the price. Thank you!

The breakfast was a real highlight, with loads of choices from soups to salads and desserts. Reception let us pick a view when we couldn’t decide which one to choose. Chinatown is a short distance away, and the metro and boat station are five minutes away. The view is really nice from the 6th and 7th floors, so I’d choose a room there. For this money, you should pick this hotel. It was the best one we stayed at in Bangkok.

Breakfast had plenty of choices and was better than I expected. The location is handy, opposite Hualampong Train station and the MRT. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful, and we had a pleasant stay. We’ll return when we’re in Bangkok. I’d requested a quiet room on the top floor and got one. Check-in was quick, and there are lifts and stairs to all floors. The clean communal areas have sofas and chairs in reception. Our bright, airy room had a balcony and plenty of space for clothes. The TV and large fridge, including its big freezer box, worked well. The room was clean, and the white cotton bedding and towels were fresh. There’s a 500bt deposit for the key, which was promptly returned at checkout.

The rooms are okay, though they could be a little better, and it’s still great value for money. The service is so sweet and made us feel at home. Breakfast was impressive too, with a huge range of savory and sweet food for 150 baht.
