The Park Residence at Bangkok

The temple is right beside the hotel, and the Blue line is nearby, so getting around is convenient. There's a pub downstairs, and nightlife goes from around 6pm until 3 or 4am. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly. I also extended my stay because I had a late flight.

The bar downstairs is the main problem if you need to sleep. It's meant to close at 2:00 am, but the music carried on until at least 4, though it might be better on weekdays. Since the bar and hotel share a building, the hotel may not be able to fix it. They'd need to limit the bar's hours or redo it with soundproofing and separate karaoke rooms if those are needed. The staff were nice and helpful. They changed my room, apologized, and gave me earplugs. I used to work in hotels, so I felt sorry for the staff having to deal with a place like this. I also saw the manager checking room conditions herself. The location is convenient, and the rooms surprisingly have smart TVs and toiletries, including toothpaste. But they need repairs and renovation. I saw a small black cockroach by the door in my first room, and the bedsheets were torn and need replacing. If a good night's sleep matters, I'd avoid it.

The reception staff were friendly, though not especially helpful. At night the area is quite nice, with live music at the bar next door and lots of street food around the corner. People do smoke right outside the hotel entrance. As for the bed, maybe three layers of sheets would cover it up enough. You decide... 🙄

The staff were accommodating, and I picked this 3.5-star hotel because it's at Huay Kawng MRT. The bar downstairs plays music until 2am, though, so if you're after a good night's sleep, this might not be the best choice.
