The Quarter Ramkhamhaeng by UHG

This was our second time in Bangkok. The first was around Sukhumvit Asok, and we loved the city’s diversity, buzz, and energy. We booked through trip.com after reading about the soundproofing and distance from the center, but wanted to experience a more local Thai area, and the price was good. We had a room on the 29th floor, away from the elevators. The hotel shuttle took about seven minutes to reach Ramkhamhaeng station, and we used Grab to return. Walking takes 20-25 minutes and isn’t pleasant because of traffic and pollution. The facilities are very good for a fairly new hotel. The gym has enough equipment for everyone, including gym enthusiasts, and great views. The scenery is lovely, but the pool water was very green and didn’t seem to be cleaned regularly, so I love swimming but decided against it because of the water quality. There’s a sauna in the male and female changing rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful, though cleaning is inconsistent. They left towels, water, and one small roll of thin, one-ply toilet paper each day. Sheets were changed once a week, on request. WiFi was unreliable, so for work or phone and laptop use we had to go to the lobby, where there was an unpleasant sewage smell from the bathrooms. We skipped breakfast because reviews said it was poor. Instead, we ate at “Took Lae Dee” inside FoodLand, about an eight-minute walk away. The large local “Huamak” super center is about the same distance in the opposite direction. We also ordered Grab food. There’s a convenient 7-Eleven at the entrance, and “After Dark” is good for coffee and drinks. It’s not too bad for a longer, budget-focused stay if you’re comfortable adapting to its shortcomings.

I paid 1,240 Baht through Klook. The room was spacious and came with all the usual amenities, plus laundry service. Common areas were great. There’s an on-site cafe, and the 31st floor has a gym, swimming pool, and kids’ playroom. The restaurant is on the 7th floor, with room service available until 9:30 PM. Parking has many levels, but remember to get your ticket stamped at the front desk before driving out.

The gym really stood out, with great equipment and mesmerizing views, and I enjoyed the pleasant pool too. My room was spacious, clean, and well ventilated. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant prices were affordable. I’d happily stay here again.

The housekeeping team kept everything in great shape, and I liked the clean gym and its equipment. The infinity pool was lovely, and the food was wonderful. Staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially at the front desk. I’d recommend the hotel.
