Ari is fairly close and makes a nice area to visit for a day out, though the hotel feels somewhat isolated from the rest of Bangkok and isn’t very close to public transport. The room was spacious but clearly needs refreshing, and the gym seemed very small for a hotel this size. The paid laundry machines and swimming pool were decent, and breakfast was fine, the usual hotel-style fare. Overall, it wasn’t bad, just a little below expectations.

We used this as a base for travel around SE Asia and stayed three times. The area felt quieter and more local or authentic than Bangkok’s touristy districts, which was a real plus. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to the BTS. Rooms were clean and the wifi was strong. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooftop pool was great, and breakfast was excellent. For a better balcony view, I’d ask for a higher floor. We’d return.

For $50-60 including breakfast, this is a decent hotel, and I enjoyed my three nights. The staff were fantastic, helpful, and hospitable, especially in the restaurant and with room cleaning. There was a lot to like in the room: it was spacious, with a big shower room, a rain shower, good water pressure, nice amenities, and a decent-sized balcony. The air conditioning worked well. Breakfast had an extensive selection of international dishes, and the menu changed every day. The pool was clean and good for doing laps, with plenty of thoughtful extras, including infused water and pool towels. A few things could improve. My balcony rail was full of bird poop and needed cleaning. The reception fragrance was too strong for my taste. Access from parking was awkward, with a narrow spiral staircase and no elevator or accessible entrance, which is a problem if you have big suitcases. The room had no soundproofing, so I could hear neighbors shutting doors and flushing toilets. Soft-close doors and drawers might help.

The neighborhood is lovely and laid-back, with great bars and restaurants and a picturesque street food market full of locals. I liked how little street bustle there was when stepping out, while Grab or Bolt could get us to anywhere in BKK within a few minutes. There’s a 7-Eleven opposite for coffee and late night snacks. They’ve also just opened a Lapin cafe and Lek massage/cosmetic/head spa salon on site, so the place has pretty much everything you need, at a high standard. The staff and management made us feel welcome instead of like random strangers. They were professional, quick, and kind, from reception to the bellboys, housekeeping, and manager. Most rooms have balconies, which is rare, and a great green view. The 2 BR family suite was gorgeous and huge, with so much space it felt like a ballroom, plus panoramic 180 degree city views. A hidden gem where you can feel at home. Perfect for an aesthetic, quiet, local experience, and BKK is still easy to reach.

I stayed six days on my recent Bangkok trip. The front desk and porter staff provided very good service. One drawback is the staircase at the main entrance, which has no railing and makes it inconvenient for older guests going up and down. It would be good if management considered installing one.
