The Residence on Thonglor by UHG

The room was very spacious, and I really liked the accommodation. Breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were nice, though one middle-aged man at the front desk seemed unfriendly when I checked out. There wasn’t a hair dryer in the room, so I’m not sure if we were meant to ask for one. Everything else was great.

I stayed for two nights in mid-March 2026 after a conference in the city. I usually think of UHG (Urban Hospitality Group) as offering simple, reasonably priced, no-frills places around Bangkok. It was established in 1999, and at the time of writing operates 19 hotel/residence and 5 commercial office projects in key city locations. I’d stayed at The Quarter Ramkamhaeng less than a month earlier. I come to Bangkok 10-12 times a year and have stayed in more than 75 hotels and BnBs over the years. This place, right on the edge of town, is still one of the better value options I’ve found, and it wasn’t in one of those seedy sois. The Junior Suite was about 1800THB a night, which seemed very reasonable, especially since it’s much larger than the standard room I stayed in here four years ago, in 2022. I didn’t notice major wear and tear since that visit, and the prices were interestingly very similar. The place has a serviced-apartment feel, with a full kitchen, full-sized fridge, work desk, dining table, and, most useful for me, a washing machine. I was doing some sports activities and used it every day. The room seemed to have had some refurbishment in the past four years or so. Lighting was bright, and the room, bed, desk, and bathroom were generally clean, with a few minor signs of wear. Sound insulation was decent too. Even though my room faced the main road on a fairly low floor, I didn’t hear traffic. WiFi worked well without a password or login code. The nearest Skytrain station is quite a journey away, but that’s a trade-off for some peace in this busy city. The neighborhood is lively and charming, and having a big, clean room and strong WiFi made this a better stay than some brand-name hotels. There was no hairdryer in the room, as others have mentioned, so I assume you need to ask the front desk for one. The shower was disappointing: hot water pressure was really weak, and only got stronger when I lowered the temperature.

We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. The room was big enough for two, and breakfast was fresh and yummy even though the food didn't change every day. There was a massage shop, a cafe, and especially a convenient store nearby. It was a great place to stay, and I'll come back to Bangkok and stay here again. Thanks to staff MEW, you were amazing.

We planned to stay for two nights, then got upgraded to a suite and decided to make it five. The suite is spacious, with a kitchenette, washing machine, fridge, hob, microwave, smart TV, balcony, safe, and a large ensuite bathroom with a bath. There’s a big comfy bed too. It’s clean and serviced daily. The staff are welcoming and attentive, and the service and breakfast are good. We’re on day three now and happy with our choice in a good part of Thonglor. We’d stay here again.
