The Town Condo

The area is nicely central yet quiet, with lots of convenience stores, food stalls, and market stalls just around the corner. It’s near the Airportlink, though a bit farther from the BTS.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Some staff behaved unprofessionally and passive-aggressively, and I felt there was dishonesty and different treatment toward non-Thai and non-Muslim guests.

The room was clean and looked like the photos online, and the security guard was very friendly. I stayed two nights. The first was fine, but the room started smelling of smoke on the second. Staff came into my room before checkout time and began counting knives and other things. I was lucky nothing was missing.

I was traveling alone, and on check-in they asked for a 1000 baht deposit that hadn’t been mentioned when I booked. A few hours before my flight, at 9 am on checkout morning, the receptionist came to inspect the room. She counted the knives, forks, cups, towels, and other items, then couldn’t find a grey hand towel on the kitchen counter and said there were supposed to be three. I don’t remember seeing a third towel and said so several times, but she kept looking through the bin, drawers, cupboards, and balcony. Then she searched through at least 1000+ Whatsapp messages for pre-check-in photos and showed me one with a hand towel, insisting she had to deduct 30 baht from my deposit. I gave up and paid the 30 baht to get the rest back. The amount didn’t matter, but being treated like a thief or someone careless with hotel property was awful, especially since I’ve stayed in hotels around the world. After the inspection she immediately started pulling up the sheets, clearing trash, and cleaning, so I had no chance to make breakfast before checkout. I didn’t want to stay another minute, so I left. Management, a little trust, respect, and subtlety with guests would go a long way. The room was also missing basics like tea or coffee, dishes, toiletries, and water bottles before I checked in. I had to call and ask for each thing, which wasn’t easy with the language barrier. Although it’s in Sukhumvit, the area is pretty dead before 10 am, making breakfast hard to find, and after 9 pm, which makes dinner or things to do difficult unless you plan to cook every day.
