The View Residence

The rates are reasonable for either short or long stays, and the rooms are generally spacious. Still, The View Apartment in Ratburana falls short on comfort and cleanliness, so for me it’s only a basic option if your budget is tight and you can accept missing amenities. My room and bathroom weren’t cleaned properly, there was a persistent bad smell and small flying insects in the bathroom, and housekeeping wasn’t regular unless requested. Even after asking, the cleaning was below standard. There’s no gym, and the shared washing machine is on the ground floor, inconvenient from higher floors. There’s no in-room phone or microwave, so contacting reception or reheating food is difficult. With no restaurant onsite, you have to order from outside, and without a microwave you’re left with cold food. The place has potential, but too many basics are missing.

The receptionists were friendly, and there’s car parking. The apartment is near three or four 7-Elevens. Rooms are clean and big enough for two, but there’s no microwave, so warming outside food is inconvenient. I reported the clogged bathroom drain to reception, and they said they’d follow up the next day, but nobody came to fix it. The washing machine and dryer are on level 1.

They wanted a cash deposit at check-in, then refused to return it, saying the towels were dirty. What do they expect, that guests wash the towels themselves? The service was terrible, the staff weren’t nice, and the room was dirty, smelly, and full of hair. Stay away from this hotel.

I’d come back, yes. I loved the view and the rest of the stay was fine. The room on the 9th floor, number 94, was spacious, had a great view, and the aircon was sniffing. We booked through Agoda for 1,100 baht total, but at the property it was only 900 baht total, so I guess I’ll book direct next time. On arrival we were sent to the wrong room type twice, losing a star for service. There’s no phone in the room, so I called for the WiFi password. The girl kindly brought a little piece of paper up, which felt like a lot of effort for something she could’ve told me on the phone. The aircon lost another star: I checked it, found what was there, and used the pipe hole to clean it out. Felt like home! The bar soap was thin and poor quality, so we bought our own liquid soap from 7-11. I found the whole night entertaining, hehe, sorry, I couldn’t help it. Please accept my apology.
