Uncle Loy's Boutique House

Gus and his mom made us feel welcome in their home, and we had a great stay. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a great shower. Breakfast was delicious, with toast, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, and the best mango sticky rice!! The place is a calm, beautiful oasis in central Bangkok near the river, with riverside restaurants and easy access to Wat Arun. The local ferry is just five minutes away. Fantastic value, and I’ll stay again on my next visit to Bangkok.

The host was so kind. We arrived without Thai baht for the ferry, and he lent us the money so we could go. The breakfast was very good, and the room was spotless, with a functional bathroom. There’s an amazing market, wang lang market!!, very close by. The hotel is in central Bangkok near the river, and the ferry makes it easy to get across. We had a great stay, and I’ve already scheduled a return for next time!

Beb invited me to the market to choose food for a dinner we’d cook one night, and I love anything involving cooking and food in a new country. That day was easily my best experience in Thailand. It felt local and truly Thai. During Songkran week, Beb had water guns ready and knew exactly where to go. Celebrating with her and Gus will stay with my whole family as a core memory. Gus and his mother Beb made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We’d first stayed at a different high-end hotel around the corner when we came to Thailand. It was beautiful and had a good breakfast, but it couldn’t compare with the local family feel here. Stay here, slow down, and enjoy what Bangkok has.

Gus and Beb are so nice, and they help with everything you need. Breakfast was great too 🥹. The location is great, near a very local market and a beautiful temple. It’s also close to the pier, where you can catch a boat across to the tourist spots like Khao San road and the grande palace. Hope I can come back someday 😊
