The parking setup is great, with lots of covered space for cars and motorbikes, and it feels safe. Our room was spotless, though quite old. The air conditioning acted up on the second day, but the staff fixed it right away. In Betong there’s a new Butterfly block behind the old Butterfly Princess building, with Butterfly cafe on the ground floor. The hotel is well placed in town, and the whole area looked tidy, even the street food stalls and restaurants. I didn’t see rubbish on the ground. Worth coming back for another stay. I spent one night in a superior king room. The hotel is new, but a lot of things weren’t working. The bathtub knob was broken and unusable, so they moved me to a smaller, downgraded room. The electrical board there kept cutting off power to my room, and the air conditioner kept shutting itself off because of a timer issue, even with the timer disabled.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, and the location is nice. The staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered, though, or had some other agenda to steer guests toward renting motorcycles or scooters from the shop across the street.

We’d stayed at the new Butterfly before. This time we stopped for one night at the old Butterfly before carrying on with our trip. The room layout and facilities feel old and worn, but the location suited us, and the covered motorbike parking felt safe. It worked well enough as an overnight stop.

A great stay, especially for riders travelling through. I’d recommend it.
