The staff made the stay easier to put up with, and the hotel is handy for nearby restaurants, markets, and a laundromat. You can walk up the slope or take the walkway through the tunnel back into town. It sits beside nightclubs, though, with a lot of promiscuous activity around them. For bikers who've ridden a long way from Malaysia or Singapore, there's ample parking with an attendant to help you find a spot and look after the bikes around the clock. Even when busy, they try to fit everyone in. The hotel's attractive facade is a welcome sight as you come out of the tunnel. The rates are affordable, but the rooms and facilities are basic. The so-called superior room felt merely adequate for sleeping. The toilet door wouldn't close properly, so there was no privacy, and the tiles were dirty and poorly kept. The rest of the room was okay, with working air conditioning, TV, and lights. Wi-Fi wasn't working during our visit because of bad weather and flooding in Yala. I don't blame the hotel for that, and my heart goes out to the Thai people affected. All in, the stay was manageable.

The manager wasn't available to deal with our complaint, so nothing was resolved and we were left more frustrated. The air conditioner was old and didn't cool the room properly. We waited an hour and a half, but it was still uncomfortably warm. When we reported it, we were told there were no other rooms available. Staff offered a portable air cooler instead. That's not what we paid for. Guests should be able to expect a working air-conditioning system and the basic comfort that comes with it. I hope the hotel takes this seriously and addresses it promptly.

The reception ladies were arrogant and no help at all. For a place charging premium rates, the room and service were a joke. I wouldn't come back even if it were free. This was easily my worst hotel stay. The bathroom was filthy. The toilet was dirty, and the towel had awful yellow stains that looked like fecal matter in the photos. It felt completely unhygienic. The door was rotting and grimy, like it hadn't been cleaned or maintained for years, and the metal fixtures were rusty and stained. The room felt more like an abandoned storeroom than somewhere for guests. It's a "Garden View" of filth and poor management. This was my first and last visit. Management needs to sort out the cleaning standards. Stay somewhere else in Betong.

The hotel is great, but the room and bathroom look dated. There are no universal charging sockets, just Thai-style plugs, so bring a travel adapter. I hope management upgrades the outlets.

Our triple room's air conditioning wasn't working properly. We asked to move, but staff said the hotel was full. The manager's suggested fix was to leave the chip card in so the air conditioning would stay on. What a stupid idea. We tried to reach the manager, but he wouldn't come and sort it out. Staff told us the room had been in this condition before and had already drawn four complaints. What a foolish solution. Hotel management needs to look into it, and Mr Kanraphan should take responsibility for his role as manager.
