The New Residence Buriram

The room felt bare and uncomfortable, with grey walls, no chair, and nowhere to put our things except the floor. I had booked a room and was waiting to shower and rest, but they couldn't or didn't want to get it ready; I waited from noon until 2pm. They kept giving me countdowns, first 40 minutes, then 8. The receptionist seemed more interested in her phone and annoyed by customers. A smile wouldn't hurt. The walk-in rate was 450, while Agoda listed the same room for 416.

A handy place to stay on a motorbike trip, and it could work for a stopover of three or four nights too. The location is good, staff are friendly, and the simple, clean rooms are a nice size. There’s security patrol in the parking area.

For the price, this is a decent, clean room in a newer building and the location is good. Parking is first come, first served, with some off-street spaces available too. There's no coffee or hot water in the room, though customers can get it free in the lobby.

You can walk to the morning and night markets, cafes, convenience stores like Mini B C and 7-Eleven, local mom-and-pop shops, shrines, government offices, parks and walkways. The hotel has a modest amount of parking under the building and a coin laundry, plus free coffee in reception. Short or long stays can be discussed. Good value in Buri Ram City, and I'd happily recommend it to other travellers.
