I found Dee Dee Homestay on Agoda and saw the rooms were very cheap, so I came in person to look. A nice Thai lady told me the price was 500B per night. Since I had an Agoda promotion, after seeing the room I paid right away through Agoda, and my card was charged 9.58 EUR, around 370 baht. The English owner, Dave, got the Agoda confirmation and became angry that I hadn't paid him directly because Agoda takes a commission. He was so upset about losing that commission that he told me to leave, so I had to cancel the booking. If the owner doesn't want to accept the current Agoda prices, he should raise the price there.

Really friendly, nice place. You can ask about a deal for a longer stay, and rent a motorbike or bicycle. I recommend it and I'll be back.

The Thai manager was incredibly welcoming and impeccable, but the farang manager was stingy and unpleasant. The only time I saw him smile was when he asked me for an extra 150 baht to print a dozen documents for me. For just a few baht more, you can find much nicer hotels in better locations.

It's very affordable, and the owner is a lovely woman who speaks some English. The beach, bars, and other amenities are nearby. There's no sign, but local people are happy to answer questions. Be careful with Google Maps, it first led me to a wooded area about 10 km away.
