Long Beach Cha-Am Hotel

Long Beach Cha-am Hotel is in a peaceful spot close to the beach, and the basic amenities were enough for a comfortable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. There’s no electric kettle in the room, but they’re happy to bring hot water if you want to make coffee or tea. The building and furniture feel old-fashioned, which gives the place a nostalgic charm. It could use some updates, but I still had an enjoyable stay.

The team at the grand countdown dinner in the ballroom was lovely, and their service felt like having a friend help you out. Wonderful, thank you!

The family room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the AC was cool and quiet. Shower pressure and temperature control were excellent, and the hotel was clean and well maintained despite feeling a bit old. Check-in and checkout were super fast. The location is right on the beach, beside a mini mart. There are two small swimming pools, and the elevators are slow. I also really didn’t like that the toilet seat and bowl are different shapes, which seems unhygienic. I don’t think management knows about it, and it’s embarrassing if this is meant to count as a renovation. Breakfast was fair, no bacon, but no problem. Food prices are reasonable, there’s massage on site, and the TV has loads of international channels with free wifi.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I’d happily come back for a shorter stay. The breakfast had lots to choose from, and I especially liked having coffee. There was water, fresh orange or pineapple juice, and milk to drink. The soup came with rice, minced pork every day, and squid and fish on the side, with fish broth and greens to season it. The other dishes included plain or seasoned rice, noodles, vegetables, and chicken, pork, or fish. The European food was tasteless, and the bacon was too burnt. I liked that leftover food was used to make something for the next day, but after three weeks the meals got repetitive. I would have liked more variety. The cake was the same every day, and the fruit was mostly watermelon, papaya, and pineapple. It’s a nice, clean hotel near the beach, with an interesting design and room layouts. The pool is between the third and fourth floors above the lobby. The dark wood around it gets too hot to walk on barefoot, and the stone tiles are very slippery when wet, so wear the flip flops provided in every room. Big brown towels are there for the pool or beach, too. The bed is wide but the mattress is hard. Water pressure was good on the fifth floor and worse on the sixth, where the shower head might need replacing. The cooling works, and euro plugs fit. There’s one outlet in the room and one in the bathroom.
