We paid 390B through Agoda on a weekday, when it was quieter, and that felt like a bargain worth every Satang. It’s right on Cha-Am beach and is one of the few budget places with parking, though spaces fill quickly, so arrive early. Our second-floor room above the lobby had a backpacker beachside feel. It was a bit dated, with a sea and damp air smell, while the lobby is very modern. Free coffee is available all day downstairs, and there’s a nice shared hangout area on the second floor, though it gets stuffy during the day. Highly recommended on weekdays if you can get a room below 600B.

The room was small and cheap, but clean, with a comfy bed and everything working. Parking was free, and the location was pretty good, just a few steps from the beach. The shower leaked, so the bathroom floor stayed wet.

Be careful on booking.com. This property comes up when you search for Koh Tao, so I booked thinking it was there. As soon as I noticed the address, I contacted them to cancel, but they didn’t respond. They also marked me as a no-show on booking.com, so they could reopen the room for the rest of our stay without refunding us.

We’ve stayed here twice in a Seaview room, and we’d happily return to Magic House next time we’re in Cha-Am. The rooms are large and clean, with the beach just across the road. The big windows open, and there are comfortable chairs in front of them, with a great view of the beach and sea. Highly recommended.

For 500baht/day it was not bad overall, and I stayed for two days. The staff didn’t leave water or bath towels. I was too lazy to ask, but there was a lot of dried blood on the blanket.
