The staff were very friendly, though they spoke hardly any English, so I had to use Google Translate on my phone to put everything into Thai. The hotel is on a quiet side street, with a 7-Eleven not far away and a nice restaurant by the waterfront. The room was on the ground floor and had no windows. Some plumbing was a little dirty, and the sheets had stains that looked like they might no longer come out in the wash. It’s an average hotel, and generally the quality matches the price.

Chanthaburi is peaceful and lovely to walk around, with temples to see, a beautiful church, and lots of coffee shops along the river. It felt underrated and worth spending a couple of days in. The hotel itself was a lovely budget stay. The rooms were clean, the Wi-Fi worked great, and the shower and air conditioning were fine. Staff were helpful but didn’t speak much English, so a translator app came in handy 👍👍.

An electricity issue meant the room we booked wasn’t available. The owner offered us a more expensive room or the option to cancel, and we chose to cancel. After emailing the owner several times, we still didn’t get our refund and ended up paying for a room we never stayed in.

Very good value and a central spot. The clean, friendly place has helpful staff. A basic room costs 490, while a deluxe is 590. Both come with air conditioning, a fridge, a kettle, tea and coffee, and hot water.
