Myrrh Hotel Chanthaburi

We chose this place because we’d be arriving late and wanted somewhere quiet outside central Chanthaburi for a proper night’s rest. It was peaceful, at least until children in the next room started screaming at 7am. The location is very remote, with hardly any nearby places to eat. The few options looked more like beer bars than restaurants, so bring food or eat before checking in. It’s also a bit of a trip into town. Our room was clean and had plenty of equipment, though there was no kettle. The rooms are huge, and the double bed was large enough for a family of four or more. The main problem was the musty smell in our ground-floor room, probably from damp walls. Room spray only covered it briefly, which is why we gave three stars rather than four or five. In the morning there was free coffee, toast, and cream buns, and hot water was available all day. A nice surprise was that the check-in staff spoke good English. We paid a little over 500B on Agoda, which felt like fair value.
