Phuengluang Riverside Hotel Chanthaburi

The river view from the sun deck beside the pool was lovely. Rooms were clean, the food was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a couple of kilometres from the town center, with an 80 baht Grab taxi ride. I can definitely recommend it and will come again.

The rooms are clean, the beds have comfortable mattresses, and some look out over the river or open straight onto the pool. I also liked the little riverside coffee shop, a nice place to sit and relax. But breakfast was poor. The coffee was instant powder, and the khao tom came with a soft egg that spilled onto my hands instead of into the soup, with no warning. The noise was unbearable: a loud TV, monks chanting and bells at a burial, and the waitress loudly chatting or playing games on her laptop. I could only manage a few spoonfuls before leaving. It’s a nice project, but it needs proper management.

A very classy resort with a small conference centre. Our upstairs room faced the river and pool, so the views were good. The downstairs rooms by the pool have direct access to it. The staff were helpful, though they didn’t speak English.

The bathroom is open air, with no roof. The toilet and shower are separate, but there should be a door. Fine for one person.
