Chiang Dao Hut

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the big room for three was so comfortable that my parents slept wonderfully and didn't want to leave 😆. This resort is a great fit if you want peace and greenery, right at the foot of the mountain. Evenings bring fresh, clean, cool air. There are mosquitoes around at night, of course, but the big lush trees and the birdsong when you wake up make it lovely.

We ended up staying four nights instead of two because we liked Chiang Dao Hut so much. It's a simple, fantastic room and a good place for a quiet nature stay while exploring the area. We were worried at first about getting there and around without a car or scooter, but getting to the area from Chiang Dao bus station was super easy. You can reach plenty of things on foot, including Chiang Dao Caves, temples, and walks around the area. There are places to eat nearby and a very cool, laid-back bar just next door. It won't suit someone after a luxury stay, but if you enjoy simple things, you'll like it here.

I didn't stay here, but spent every evening hanging out by the fire with drinks. Joh is such a welcoming, hospitable person, and he makes world-famous coffee. If you're in Chiang Dao, do yourself a favor and come by!

Joh is a wonderful host and such a kind guy. He makes the best coffee I've ever had, and the food is really good too. The place is lovely, next to the national parc and close to the caves. Thanks for everything ❤️
