There are only three rooms, so it’s best to book ahead. The big garden has lots of different roses and other lovely flowers, and breakfast was wonderful.

I took a while to choose where to stay in Chang Dao, but I was glad I picked this place. The room was clean and comfortable, with a stunning view and a peaceful feel. Joi and Lek were welcoming and had great local suggestions. Breakfast was tasty and different each day, and the hosting felt personal and genuine. On my last day, I even got a ride to the bus station. I’d suggest staying more than three days so you can enjoy both the place and the town.

The botanical garden is carefully looked after, and the whole setting feels peaceful and refreshing. The owner was warm and attentive, making the stay feel personal, almost like being welcomed into a family home. The rooms were clean and free of bugs, with a Siemens shower heater that was especially useful in November. I also appreciated the cozy kitchen corner for small cooking projects. Everything seemed arranged with care. A lovely homey place to stay in November or December.

The garden is beautifully kept, and the owners made us feel very welcome. Rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy, which made the stay comfortable. Phu Vara Resort also allows small pets, a lovely touch. It felt like being part of a warm family, and I’d recommend it.

A comfortable, clean apartment looking out over Doi Luang, with lovely gardens and very friendly owners. A really nice little guest house.
