Suneta Hostel Chiangkhan

We booked the biggest room, 40+ SQM, at 2 BRANCE - Please check the branch (Branch 2), and were quite disappointed. Definitely not going back. The issues weren’t solved or compensated. The wooden design was clean, the staff could suggest places to visit, drinks and coffee were free for everyone, and the other rooms looked better. But our room had no window, so there was no view, and the TV was broken. The staff member told us to complain to her boss because she couldn’t help arrange anything. "DO complain please" The bathroom wasn’t functional. There was no shower room, so you had to stand in the tub holding the shower and be careful of the chandelier. The room also wasn’t soundproof. Staff didn’t clean it, saying we hadn’t asked, though they did clean once we told them to. The lobby was small, with one table and nowhere to hang out. We were asked to move because other guests needed to have breakfast, so we moved to the sofa.

The location feels very local, right opposite the walking street, and the monk food offering happens just outside. The staff are friendly. My main issue was the old mattress: it was hard and sagged in the middle. A softer, more comfortable bed would make it much easier to sleep well.

We had a lovely view of the Maekong river, and the natural room style made the place feel cozy. It’s right on the old street. The staff were always smiling, very friendly, and happy to share whatever information we needed. I’d love to come back next time!

There’s no kitchen, but the staff asked what kind of food we liked, suggested something, and ordered it for us. They were helpful and knew a lot. The place was kept clean and well maintained, and I was satisfied with my stay.
